Homemade Energy Drink

This has helped me out on many runs, especially the longer ones. The Matcha tea provides the caffeine, honey is a source of glucose and fructose, pink Himalayan salt contains electrolytes and antioxidants and lemon juice provides vitamin C and offsets the sweetness of the honey.

To make 500ml:

5g matcha powder

50g BOYLES IRISH PANTRY honey Shop

0.5g pink Himalayan salt

Juice of 1 lemon

 

  1. Heat water. Add a little hot water to matcha powder and mix into paste with a spoon or whisk. Add more hot water to the paste mixture and stir.
  2. Mix honey and salt in the hot tea until dissolved.
  3. Add lemon juice.
  4. Cool
