Sustainability & Environmental

Our SourcesSustainability & Environmental

At Boyles Irish Pantry, sustainability and eco-friendliness are core values that inform all aspects of our operations. As part of our commitment to reducing waste and minimizing our environmental impact, we have implemented various initiatives to repurpose salvaged timber that would otherwise be discarded or burned. This includes producing hive parts and stands, among other equipment, which are made from repurposed timber. Additionally, our wax harvesting and processing methods prioritize sustainability, ensuring that wax is reused or sold for cosmetic and candle making purposes. By implementing these practices, we are proud to contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

Native Irish Honey Bee SocietyNIHBS membership

Apart from being very active members of the Louth Beekeeping Association we are also members of NIHBS (Native Irish Honey Bee Society) with a primary focus on the conservation of our one and only native honey bee.

With training provided by NIHBS we have our own breeding program to promote these genetics while keeping good biodiversity. Beekeepers in Louth have declared this county as a Native Irish Honey Bee conservation area and we are proud to stand for this as we grow in size as Irish honey producers.
